How to get more cleaning clients: winning the regulars, not just the one-offs

One-off cleans pay the bills; weekly regulars build the business. Where cleaning leads come from, why trust beats price, and how to stop paying an app a cut.

Short answerCleaning is a trust purchase: DBS, insurance and real people, shown first. Separate pages for domestic, end of tenancy and commercial, clear pricing, and your own site so you are not renting customers from a platform.

A stranger in the house

Cleaning is bought on trust more than price. People are handing over keys. DBS checks, insurance, vetted staff and real photos of the team need to be the first thing on the page, not a line in the footer. Most cleaning sites bury them, which is why the ones that show them win.

Three customers, three pages

A weekly domestic clean, an end of tenancy clean and an office contract are different customers with different searches and different questions. One “our services” page serves none of them. A page for each, with the right questions answered, ranks for each.

Pricing: say it

For domestic cleaning, an hourly rate and a minimum visit on the site set expectations and filter the people who wanted a miracle for twenty pounds. For commercial, a quote form that asks the right questions. Vagueness sends people to the competitor who says it plainly.

Platforms rent you the customer

Apps and platforms bring cleaning jobs quickly and keep a cut of every regular, forever, while owning the relationship. Fine to start. The goal is your own site bringing your own regulars, who pay you directly and recommend you.

Regulars come from reliability, then referrals

The same cleaner, on time, every week, is the whole product. Get that right and each regular refers another. A referral thank-you, a free hour or a small gift, turns that into a system.

Towns, not counties

Cleaning is bought locally and searched by town. “Cleaner Horsell”, “end of tenancy clean Woking”. Pages for the towns and larger villages you cover rank quickly and match how people search.

A one-month plan

Week one: profile complete with services and towns, review requests to your ten best regulars. Week two: DBS, insurance and team photos on the home page. Week three: pages for domestic, end of tenancy and commercial. Week four: pages for your three busiest towns and a quote form. A cleaning company site from us includes it all, free demo first.
