Why we build your website demo before you pay anything
Most web agencies want a deposit before you see a thing. We do it the other way round, and here is why that is better for you and, honestly, for us.
Short answerYou cannot judge a website from a proposal. So we build a working demo of yours, free, and quote a fixed price after you have seen it. It costs us a few hours and it removes the biggest risk from your side of the table.
Ask an agency for a website and the order of events is always the same. A meeting. A proposal. A deposit, usually half. Then, weeks later, you see a design. If it is not what you pictured, you are already in.
We do it backwards.
What happens instead
You send us your logo, a few photos and a list of what you do. Within two working days you get a link to a working demo of your site: your name, your services, your photos, a page or two done properly, and it opens on your phone like the real thing.
Then we talk for half an hour on Zoom, with the demo on screen. You say what to change. We give you one fixed price for the finished site. You decide.
If you say no, that is the end of it. No invoice, no follow-up campaign, no hard feelings.
Why this is better for you
You are judging the real thing. A proposal is a promise. A demo is evidence. You can see whether it looks right, reads right and works on your phone before a penny moves.
The price is for something you have seen. A quote after the demo is a quote for a known thing. There is nothing to reinterpret later and nothing to add.
The risk is on our side. If the demo is poor, we have wasted our afternoon, not your deposit. That is the right way round. We are the ones claiming to be good at this.
Why it works for us too
We will be honest about this part. A demo takes a few hours. Most people who see one go ahead, because a real site of their own business is a very different thing from a brochure about web design. So the free demo is not charity. It is the best sales pitch we have, and it happens to be the fairest one.
It also filters. Someone who cannot find a logo and three photos in a week is probably not ready for a website, and we would rather learn that before either of us has spent money.
What it is not
It is not a template with your name typed in. Each demo is written for the business: the right services, the right towns, the right words for a plumber or a physio or a salon. It is not a full site either. Usually a home page, one service page and a contact page, enough to show what the finished thing will be like.
And it is not a trick to get you on the phone. The call is half an hour and its only job is to get your changes and give you a number.
How much is the number?
It depends on how many pages you need, and most local business sites need fewer than people think. We put it in writing on the call. Then one monthly plan covers hosting, changes, local SEO and your Google Business Profile, and the full breakdown of that is on the pricing page.
If you want to see what your site would look like, that is the whole point. Ask for the demo. It costs nothing to find out.
