How to get more landscaping work: from Instagram likes to booked patios
Landscapers show their best work in the one place customers do not search. How to turn the gallery into leads, price-qualify enquiries, and fill the winter.
Short answerA finished garden sells itself, so put the photos where people search: on your own site, by job type, with a rough price guide so enquiries arrive the right size. Rank for villages, and use quiet months to build.
The gallery is on the wrong platform
Instagram is where landscapers post and it is where nobody searches for a patio. Google is where they search, and Google cannot see your Instagram grid. The fix is not to stop posting; it is to put the same photos on your own site, organised by job type, where they rank and where they close.
Price guides filter the enquiries you do not want
Landscaping enquiries are often the wrong size: someone who wants a whole garden with a budget for a path, or the reverse. A short guide on the site, “patios from”, “driveways from”, “garden design from”, cuts those out before the site visit and reassures the right people that you are within reach.
Photos with the enquiry
Half of landscaping quotes need a look at the garden. A WhatsApp button on every page lets people send photos and rough sizes with the enquiry, so you can quote or at least qualify before driving anywhere. Fewer wasted visits, faster quotes.
Villages, not counties
The people who commission gardens live in villages with large plots: Westcott, Shamley Green, Ewhurst, Brockham. Each is searched by name and almost never targeted. A page for each village you work in, with a photo of a job done there, ranks quickly and brings exactly the right customer.
Seasonality is a planning problem
Spring enquiries arrive all at once and the phone goes quiet in November. Rankings do not have seasons. A site that ranks all year lets you sell hard landscaping, fencing and drainage in winter, and lets you book spring in January. Use the quiet months to build the pages and the gallery.
Referral partners
Garden designers, architects, builders, estate agents on new developments, and nurseries. A designer who trusts your build quality will send you every job they draw.
A one-month plan
Week one: profile complete, service area set to your villages, review requests to your last ten clients. Week two: gallery by job type, thirty photos, labelled with the village. Week three: pages for patios, driveways and design, each with a “from” price. Week four: pages for your three busiest villages, WhatsApp button everywhere. That is a landscaper’s site from us, built as a free demo first.
